Powder Blue Gourami (Male)

The Powder Blue Gourami - Colisa lalia, is a colour morph of the Dwarf Gourami.
The males are a powder blue shade, they are extremely pretty fish, very gentle and graceful indeed.
The females are silver coloured.
Examples of males or females where the remnants of the Dwarf Gourami barring is showing through should be avoided as the colour has not been truely fixed into the bloodline yet.

I kept mine at 25C, it is in the upper regions of its temperature range with around 27-28C being top.
Its origin is India.

I fed them on flake food.

It is a nervous fish and is best kept with calm tank mates or it may well be bullied and
become stressed, it is also not suitable for aquariums located in high human foot traffic areas,
you want it in a nice calm environment with calm tank mates and a well planted tank.

It is not suitable for total beginners but once you gain a little experience have the water
quality correct and are able to maintain good water quality successfully, then it is a suitable
fish and will thrive for you.

They are bubblenest builders.
I have not bred these as I was not able to source a good quality female at the time.
